For further information about workshops and clinics please contact my course co-ordinator, Elsa Bridger. Spaces at all the workshops are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment. A 50% deposit is due at time of booking, and the full balance is due two weeks before your workshop. Booking forms (which includes full terms and conditions, including cancellation policy) and full logistical details are available on request.

If you'd like to book a private lesson, workshop or clinic in your area, please contact me. I am available to teach on line, liberty and freestyle riding to level 4, for groups of up to ten students.

Schedule 2012

 

Crockstead Equestrian Centre, near Halland, East Sussex – with large indoor arena, stables, hotel and pub!

Level 3 winter series - Thursdays: 10th Nov, 8th Dec, 5th Jan, 2nd Feb, 1st March.

This series of workshops will cover level 3 concepts of the programme and include theory, simulations and horsemanship time. Start refining your games and communication on line and ridden and look at some liberty in larger areas towards the end of the series.
Can be taken as a series (recommended) or individually,
Logistics: Check in from 8.30. Day starts at 9.30 and finishes at 4pm.
Hot and cold drinks provided, please bring food or lunch is available in the pub.
Cost: £85 per workshop or £80 per workshop if more than one is booked, (includes indoor arena hire)
Stabling cost to venue of £10 and minimal amount for shavings may be required.
Spectators: welcome, £20 per day, free if driving the rider! Please let us know if you are coming.
 

Parkfield Series L3/4 Summer Workshops * May 5th, July 7th and Sept 1st.

Parkfield Stables, Hurstpierpoint. Great facilities at the foot of the downs. Arena, honeycomb and play field. Outdoor pens included in cost.

Registration 9.30, Workshop times 10am-3pm.

Cost £70 each or £65 each if more than one is booked.

Saturday 18th – Horseless Workshop: Posture, Pilates and Feel.  

Hurstpierpoint.

Spend a fun day exploring these concepts with theory, simulations, and hands on instruction. Meet “Steady Eddie”, Linda’s riding simulator and train your body away from your horse. Learn how feel and pilates can improve your riding and help your horse.

Cost £35

Registration 9.30am, day ends 3pm.

Saturday 5th: *Parkfield Series Level 3/4 Workshop – Advancing on line and liberty, Parkfield Stables, Hurstpierpoint.

Friday 11th – Sunday 13th: Building Confidence in Trail Riding, Yorkshire, (venue to be confirmed).

First prepare your horse for everything he is likely to meet out hacking, first on the ground and then in the saddle. Then enjoy hacking out in the Yorkshire country escorted by licensed instructors. If you are not ready to ride, then join the fun on line.

Cost £360 (not including horse accommodation)

Thursday 17th-Friday 18th: Level 1/2 clinic, Church Farm South, Shipley,

A great venue with arenas, round pens, playfield with toys, individual horse paddocks and camping available on site.

Advance your on line skills and develop your freestyle riding. Learn about preparing your horse to ride and how to use natural riding dynamics to create harmony in the saddle.

Cost £180*  (horse accommodation payable to venue, approx £10 per day).

Spectators welcome £20 per day, please let us know if you are coming.

 

Saturday 19th: Level 1/2 Freestyle workshop – Impulsion and Patterns, Church Farm South, Shipley.

 

Learn how to balance whoa and go and develop a calm, willing partner. 

 

Cost £90*  (Horse pens £10  payable to venue).

Spectators welcome £20, please let us know if you are coming.

 

*book both courses together and not only accelerate your learning but receive a £20 discount ie £250 for all three days.

**book all four May and July courses at Shipley and receive a further £20 discount

Friday 25th – Sunday 27th: Advanced Trail Ride Clinic, Parkfield Stables, Hurstpierpoint.

 

Join us for trail ride preparation on line and in the saddle, then head out onto the beautiful South Downs. The group will be split into two rides, those that prefer a more leisurely pace, and those that want to challenge themselves with steeper terrain and longer distances. Both groups will be escorted by licensed instructors as Ruth Carlyle 2*, will again be joining me. 

Pre-requisites: students should have completed the Building Confidence Trail ride clinic in 2010/2011 or be level 2 graduates (official or unofficial) and be confident to walk, trot and canter.

Cost £320  (includes horse accommodation in outdoor pens).

No spectators on this one, sorry!

 

June

Saturday 14th: L2 Freestyle workshop- Building confidence in open spaces and trails.

Church Farm South, Shipley.

Prepare your horse on line and then in saddle and learn strategies to gain confidence in bigger areas and trails.

Cost £90*  (Horse pens approx £10 payable to venue).

*book both courses together and receive a £20 discount ie £250 for all three days.

August

 

Thursday 2nd- Saturday 4th: L3/4 Summer Savvy clinic, Stone Cross.

Build your on line, liberty and freestyle riding skills whilst having fun at this summer savvy clinic. Camp with your horse if you wish and enjoy the stunning views, good company and fantastic facilities. 

Cost £285 (cost for horse pens approx £5 per day payable to venue).

Spectators welcome £20 per day, please let us know if you are coming.

 

September

 

Saturday 1st: *Parkfield Series, L3/4 Principles to Purpose Freestyle workshop,

Parkfield Stables, Hurstpierpoint.

Thursday 20th – Sunday 23rd: September Savvy L2-L4 clinic, Stone Cross.

Ruth Carlyle 2* Instructor will again be joining me for 4 days of fun and learning.

Days will include group tuition as well as smaller workshops and focus groups. Progress your horsemanship through fun activities and challenges and end the course with a games day and tournament to test your new skills.

Camping available on site.

Cost £360 (cost for horse pens approx £5 per day payable to venue).

October

Monday 1st – Saturday 6th: South Downs Way Ride (date to be confirmed).

The South Downs Way is a 100 mile ride from Eastbourne to Winchester. A test of human and horse partnership. Follow our training during the summer and support our ride by sponsoring us. Details to be released nearer the time.

* Notes for workshops: Please note, I am not licensed to allow stallions at clinics. For ridden clinics, horses should be "rideable"; by that we mean ridden with a saddle in walk, trot and canter, and be of the appropriate level for the workshop as per criteria above.
